Dear fellow PVARC members,

Our February QRO newsletter comes your way next Tuesday just before our next monthly meeting on Thursday, February 6.  This QRO issue will also mention a slight course-correction for our monthly HF Enthusiasts Group meetings at the Palos Verdes main library.  Starting in February our HFE meetings will begin with an HF topic for discussion and after that we'll have the usual round-table to discuss projects or other ham radio aspects including non-HF ones.  We heard from some that our HFE meetings had been drifting more into VHF, UHF, and other areas of ham radio that weren't related to HF operating.  All are still welcome to attend or just observe...including newcomers on HF.

Please check into our weekly nets tonight on the K6PV repeater and say hello:  at 7:30 pm for the analog FM net (447.120 MHz, - , Tone Squelch, PL 100.0) or the 144.910 MHz cross-band with Tone Squelch, PL 156.7, on the west side of Palos Verdes; then at 8:00 pm our DMR digital net.  If you acquire a DMR handheld radio among our three supported models we can program it for you before our monthly meetings.  We're still supporting the TYT UV380; AnyTone 868/878UV; and TERA TR-7400.

Although not a PVARC public service event, this coming weekend a number of PVARC members will be operating along the Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday 10K/5K route starting at King Harbor and heading south to Riviera Village before turning around.  With many costumed runners/walkers among the 8,000+ participants it's definitely the most festive running event in our area.

Have a great Super Bowl weekend and 73,

Diana, AI6DF
