Dear fellow PVARC members,
We hope you and your family are staying well in this coronavirus environment. Like other amateur radio clubs in California we won't be holding in-person meetings during the near-term future.
But we are planning to use an online video conferencing service for replacing in-person monthly meetings at Hesse Park and monthly HF Enthusiasts meetings in the Palos Verdes Library--plus we'll have a platform for other special interest programs. We found these video conferencing services are experiencing extremely high levels of interest and are still waiting to get our online access privileges. Stay tuned for more details...we are hopeful to have a video conference meeting ready by the time of our regularly-scheduled April 2 monthly meeting but if not we can schedule it on almost any evening.
Ham radio nets have been very active in the Los Angeles area these past two weeks with most of us being home-bound and looking to expand boundaries beyond the home. Our K6PV repeater nets are tonight as usual, with the DMR net from 7:00-7:25 pm and the analog FM net from 7:30-7:55 pm. Please check in on either or both nets and say hello to fellow club members.
There are now more local nets for PVARC members to break their daily monotony. First, every morning at 9:00 am there is an open roundtable net on the Palos Verdes Estates NART Bayview repeater, 447.800, - , Tone Squelch, PL 131.8 for those on the Peninsula's west side and in the Beach Cities. Originally set up for NART members to chat, it is open to all PVARC members as well.
Second, every morning also at 9:00 am our K6PV repeater will have an open roundtable net using analog FM.
Finally, every morning at 9:30 am the K6PV repeater will have an open DMR net.
So what's an open roundtable net? Basically whoever is there...maybe not for long but usually someone will be on the air...so give these a try.
Our April QRO newsletter comes out next week with news about our first video conference meeting, so look for the issue in your Inbox.
Take care, stay safe, and 73,
Diana, AI6DF
