Dear fellow PVARC members,

Thanks to everyone who met (and for their patience) during our first online video conference meeting last Thursday.

As other organizations have experienced the first video conference inevitably has a speed bump or two.  I had mine with poor audio coming from my connection while the slides were on-screen.  Several attendees later suggested doing an internet provider speed test and sure enough, I was only getting a 5.1 Mbs upload speed vs. 12.5-15.0 Mbs upload speeds I typically experience.  There definitely was some congestion on my cable internet node, not any problem with Cisco Webex.  I have also since tweaked some settings in my computer interface.

This Saturday our HF Enthusiasts Group meets via Webex video conference from 10:00 am to Noon and I am quite confident our connection will be fine.   The meeting information and join-in link will be sent to everyone Friday evening.  We don't know when the Palos Verdes Library will re-open for public use but we intend to return HF Enthusiast meetings there after the COVID-19 emergency passes.

Finally, our weekly K6PV repeater nets are tonight at  7:00-7:25 pm for the DMR net;  7:30-7:55 pm for the analog FM net (with the westside crossband link.)  Please check in and say hello.

Stay safe and 73,

Diana, AI6DF
