Dear fellow PVARC members,
Last Tuesday's PVARC net was our first with K6PV's recent repeater enhancements. We heard many previously weak stations now sounding much stronger. That's because one enhancement Gary Lopes, WA6MEM, added was a receiver pre-amplifier to boost weaker signals. A fuller explanation will be in the next QRO newsletter, now coming out next Tuesday before our November 7th monthly meeting where we have a fascinating presentation about amateur radio contacts with astronauts on the International Space Station. In the meantime please try checking in on our analog net tonight at 7:30 pm on K6PV or 2-meter cross-band link (144.910 MHz, Tone Squelch, PL 156.7) or the K6PV DMR net at 8:00 pm. Our repeater's tower height sometimes may vary with wind conditions but the new pre-amplifier will always be listening for weaker signals.
The PVARC's December 12th Holiday Dinner is now taking reservations. See the PDF with complete times and additional information.
You may send your reservation and payment to our PO Box, pay in person at our November 7th club meeting, or pay online via PayPal (visit www.paypal.com, then designate recipient as This email address is being protected from spambots. Have a great week and 73 to all,
