Dear fellow PVARC members,

Our next monthly meeting on February 7 at Hesse Park has noted DXpedition operator and team physician Dr. Arnold Shatz giving an interesting presentation about the 2018 Baker Island DXpedition in the South Pacific.  That DXpedition also commemorated the 81st anniversary of aviatrix Amelia Earhart's disappearance near Baker Island in 1937...so we hope you can attend.

In the meantime, our weekly Tuesday club net is tonight at 7:30 pm on the K6PV repeater (447.120 MHz, - , PL 100.0) and cross-banded onto 144.910 MHz, Tone Squelch, PL 156.7 for those on the Palos Verdes Peninsula's west side.  Please check in and say hello.

In recent weeks your Board of Directors has been actively working on details for acquiring a dual-mode DMR/analog repeater for K6PV.  This would replace our current analog FM repeater which went on-air in 2004.   More info on these developments in our next QRO newsletter but be assured our weekly nets will still use analog FM.

This Saturday from 7:00-11:30 am is the monthly W6TRW Swap Meet at the Northrop Grumman complex in North Redondo Beach.  Perhaps we'll see you there too.

Lastly, please remember to renew your PVARC membership if you haven't already.  Our new membership form is attached as a PDF and you may mail your completed application to our PO Box or pay in person at our February meeting.

Have a great week and 73 to all,
Diana, AI6DF
