Dear fellow PVARC members,
Our February QRO newsletter issue is attached as a PDF for your reading and includes news about our soon to be installed dual-mode DMR/analog repeater for K6PV. As noted in the article, K6PV will still work fine in analog mode with all your existing 440 amateur radios.
We hope you can attend this Thursday's 7:30pm monthly meeting at Hesse Park when DXpeditioner and physician Arnold Shatz, N6HC, presents what the 2018 Baker Island DXpedition was like. Arnie has been on 13 major DXpeditions around the world and has much to share about operating and living during such ham radio journeys. Our "What's Next?" group meeting at 6:30pm is for asking questions or getting help about any ham radio aspect...so feel free to attend that especially if you are a newer ham operator.
Our weekly club net is at 7:30 pm tonight on the K6PV repeater (447.120 MHz, PL 100.0) and the usual cross-band of 144.910 MHz, Tone Squelch, PL 156.7 for those on the west side of Palos Verdes. Please check in and say hello. I will try checking in from the Los Angeles Area Council of Amateur Radio Clubs bi-monthly meeting in San Pedro tonight. The downtown San Pedro area has some difficulties reaching K6PV with handheld radios so please bear with me.
73 to all and see you Thursday night,
Diana, AI6DF
